We can’t explain Padis place without talking about the root word “padi”. “Padi” is a West African-originated word; in Nigerian Pidgin, it means friend, mate, close associate; in short, “padi” = someone you roll with / your person. In the African hosting/ hospitality culture, there’s always an element of coziness, food, and community. Padis place aims to embrace that culture by hosting intentionally curated gatherings that make attendees feel welcome and comfortable, you know, like at their “Padis” house. Our goal is to turn more strangers into Padis and build a community.
